Plant Education for Children & Teens

Offering herb walks, creative learning, and garden discoveries for children and families.

Learning Through Plants

Teaching Kids

I love helping children discover the plants growing around them. A familiar leaf or flower can become the beginning of a question, a story, or a new relationship with the natural world.

Through herb walks, preschool teaching, and summer camp, I invite children to slow down, look closely, and learn through direct experience. My approach brings together plant knowledge, creativity, and play, with room for children’s questions and discoveries to guide our time together.

Little Sponges

A Sensory Exploration

Plants offer children a way to explore the living world close to home. Learning can begin with noticing a leaf’s shape, watching a pollinator, or recognizing a plant they have seen before. I want children to feel curious about nature and confident asking questions about what they find.

My Work With Children and Families

St. David’s Preschool | Minnetonka, MN | 2024–2026
Through Herbs of the Forest, I taught herbs to preschoolers ages 3–5 and to families, inviting young learners and their caregivers to explore the plant world together.

The Blake School | Hopkins, MN
2022-2026
I led herb walks for children in kindergarten through fourth grade, introducing them to plants through guided outdoor exploration.

Jr. Herbalists Camp | Ages 7–11
Aug 2026
I led a four-day summer camp bringing together plant exploration, herbal medicine making, art, and games. Camp gave children time to return to the garden, look more closely, and learn alongside one another.

Herbalism 101 | Ages 15-18 Coon Rapids HS 2025 - Current
I lead high schoolers through a sensory experience of herbal medicine during biology class. We cover plant families, botany, herbal actions, and application.
